Qualifications for the Perf Improvement RN Coord Role

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • Newly hired ASN RNs starting employment on/after January 1, 2014 will be required to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing within five (5) years from date of hire into this job.
  • Three to five years experience in performance improvement required.
  • Excellent communication skills required and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with medical staff, administration, IU Health BMH departments, and outside contacts required.
  • Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Requires accountability, dependability, and initiative.
  • Must have the ability to be sufficiently mobile to access multiple data sources that are physically separated and to retrieve that data.
  • Must have the ability to quickly, efficiently and accurately manipulate various types of equipment such as: keyboards, computers and telephones.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with patient, families, physicians, peers, hospital employees and visitors on a one-to-one basis using appropriate grammar, vocabulary and word usage.
  • Must have analytical ability to evaluate problem situations in depth and come to independent conclusions.
  • Must have the ability to juggle several assignments simultaneously and appropriately prioritize based on workload.
  • Must have the ability to use of independent judgment and discretion.
  • Must have the ability to document in clear and concise fashion with appropriate grammar and word usage.
  • Must have the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations.
  • Must become Certified in Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 5 years.
