Supports patient diagnosing and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating, and repairing general biomedical equipment, under close supervision. Validates and inspects clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety, and proper operation. Assists other technicians in the troubleshooting and major repair of complex equipment. Maintains a safe and healthy working environment by conducting safety tests, recommending and complying with procedures, training and guiding medical and healthcare personnel, and complying with codes.

Qualifications for the Biomedical Equipment Tech I Role

  • Associate's degree preferred or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • May require valid Driver's License.
  • Requires ability to read, understand, and explain electronics schematics.
  • Requires ability to use hand and machine tools, soldering, designated preventive maintenance, and other test equipment.
  • Requires basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience; general biomedical equipment experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
