We have an exciting opportunity available! Our RN Outpatient Float position exists to perform a variety of patient care services as directed by physicians or clinic manager; assures smooth patient flow, assists with examination procedures, collects patient information, point of care testing where applicable, provides patient education and clerical support.

This position is expected to be flexible with hours and cross trained to all desks/offices.

Candidates will be asked to be available as early as 6:45 a.m - 8:00 p.m due to the different clinic hours which have various shifts. There are no current weekend rotations, but we do sometimes have a need in UC, Monticello or Frankfort on a weekend.

Qualifications for the Outpatient Resource Float Registered Nurse Role

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Current active Indiana state RN license required.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE.
  • Knowledge of various standard laboratory and medical procedures.
  • Ability to accurately collect patient information.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
  • Data entry and basic math skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity and operating knowledge of designated equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse or low- income populations.
  • Ability to provide patient education pertaining to a diagnosed illness; preparation for tests; patient care and diet; or related subject based on pre-established content.
  • The ability to work independently and assist with medical procedures.
