Responsible for operating a route independently, following directions, customer care, supply delivery, transporting all types of specimens, controlling the temperature of those specimens during transport, and accounting for everything they have delivered or picked up throughout the course of the day (electronically).  Responsible for customer service, representing the laboratory, while in the customers/physician’s office and/or hospital.  Is 100% accountable for every single patient samples picked up, which includes scanning them into your handheld device and handling at the correct temperature during transport.  Is 100% responsible for unloading all specimens at the end of the day to ensure nothing has been misplaced or lost during transport.  This will include revisiting your fleet vehicle to ensure nothing is left behind and everything has been delivered.   Is responsible for keeping the interior of the vehicle clean and better than you found it.  Will be responsible for assisting with sorting of client reports. Assists with sorting of deliveries by specimen type and department you are delivering to. Keeps a daily activity record (electronically) indicating number of trips, destination, arrival/departure times and the number of specimen/requests.

Qualifications for the Courier Role

  • Requires a valid Indiana Operator's license and a good driving history.
  • Requires understanding of the traffic laws of the state of Indiana.
  • Requires ability to read and write at an appropriate level.
  • Requires strong customer service skills.
  • Requires HS grad or GED Equivalent.
