The Associate Chief Medical Officer for Adult Hospital Medicine (Assoc CMO-AHM) directly reports to the Chief Medical Officer and VP for Quality and Patient Safety, and works collaboratively with the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Ambulatory Clinical Practice (Assoc CMO-ACP), the Chief Nursing Executive, and other key leaders of IU Health West Central Region (WCR). Their overall role is to support the continued development of an integrated regional health system throughout the WCR in its efforts to achieve the Mission of IU Health. The scope of responsibility includes medical leadership over all of the adult-care hospital-based departments and sites within the WCR. In addition the Assoc CMO-AHM is the physician leader over Anesthesia services, Radiology services, Emergency services and Laboratory services. The Assoc CMO-AHM facilitates the development and implementation of efforts to assure the scope of the inpatient clinical enterprise is coordinated, integrated, of demonstrable high quality, meeting the needs of the patients of the region, and serves as a highly-engaging clinical practice environment for Team Members. The Assoc CMO-AHM is a member of the Executive Leadership Team of the WCR and is a paired-leader with the WCR's Chief Nursing Executive.
