Qualifications for the University Lab Clinical Nurse Role

  • Willing to work on-call.
  • Comfortable working with machines and starting IVs.
  • Prefer RN with at least 1 year experience
  • Experience in Dialysis, ICU, Med Surgery, or Hematology Oncology preferred

Additional Information about this Role

The Apheresis RN will operate and manage several different apheresis machines. This position performs therapeutic apheresis procedures; plasma exchange, red cell exchange, cellular depletions and extracorporeal photopheresis. The RN will also perform peripheral blood stem cell collections. Also, the RN will care for both adult and pediatric patients and is responsible for their care while undergo apheresis procedures. The RN will assist with projects, clinical trials and new institutional protocols! This day shift position includes participation in on call rotation for evenings, weekends and holidays to cover emergency apheresis procedures. Currently the on-call rotation is one weekend a month and one week (Monday-Friday) every other month.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
