IU Health Methodist's A2North is a mixed model unit that sees both medical/surgical and progressive care patients. This unit's focus is the treatment of medical, surgical and procedural cardiovascular patients. Diagnoses include cardiac arrhythmias, circulatory disorders, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), cardiac valve repairs and replacement, ventricular assist devices (VAD), thoracic surgeries, post heart catheter, arteriogram, pacemakers, defibrillators, and ablations. Nurses in this unit gain skills in ACLS, progressive care training, EKG interpretation, arrhythmia management, and expertise in post-op surgical and cardiovascular care.
