Indiana University Health is seeking an exceptional and experienced nurse to join our LifeLine Critical Care Division!

IU Health LifeLine provides care, transport, and treatment services in both emergency and non-emergency situations. We deliver the highest standard of care to every patient. With a comprehensive air and ground fleet, IU Health LifeLine is able to reach facilities and accident scenes in Indiana, Eastern Illinois and Western Ohio. LifeLine uses AirbusEC145s, one of the most advanced helicopters used for air medical transport in the nation. Ground transports are made in safe and efficient Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICUs). All members of the IU Health LifeLine team complete Crew Resource Management (CRM) courses, teaching crew members how to operate safely and efficiently inside a dynamic transport environment.

Qualifications for the LifeLine Registered Nurse Role

  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Ability to obtain surrounding state license within 6 months of hire (Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky).
  • Requires advanced certification (CFRN) within 18 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course (TNATC) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency must be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained with initial probationary period.
  • Active, unrestricted Indiana Driver’s License with no more than 6 accrued points.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • New ASN RNs hired after January 1, 2013 will be required to complete their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire into this job.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE.
  • Requires minimum of 3 years; 5 years relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to adapt to stressful situations.
  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses and seeks appropriate resources.
  • Ability to lead a team approach to patient and family centered care.
  • Effective verbal, nonverbal and interpersonal communication skills.
