To function in a role as a Critical Care Registered Nurse that is diverse, multifaceted and serves a broad spectrum of age groups. To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the appropriate level of patient care according to the applicable state(s) scope of Registered Nurse practice and guided by the Commission on Accreditation for Medical Transport Systems, organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications for the Critical Care TransFloat RN Role

  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Ability to obtain surrounding state license within 6 months of hire (Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky).
  • Requires advanced certification (CFRN) within 18 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course (TNATC) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency must be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained with initial probationary period.
  • Active, unrestricted Indiana Driver?s License with no more than 6 accrued points.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • New ASN RNs hired after January 1, 2013 will be required to complete their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire into this job.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE.
  • Requires minimum of 3 years; 5 years? relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to adapt to stressful situations.
  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses and seeks appropriate resources.
  • Ability to lead a team approach to patient and family centered care.
  • Effective verbal, nonverbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel and work at all LifeLine bases depending on operational needs.
