Under the supervision of the Service Line Administrator or Vice President, plans and directs the operational activities of the medical practices operated by the organization. Oversees adherence to the organization policies and proper communication to and involvement of subordinate personnel regarding Practice Operations. Plans, organizes and directs daily operations to include staffing, practice growth and improvement, financial performance and customer service. Accountable for operational and financial performance results of medical practices.

Qualifications for the Practice Administrator Role

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or other closely related field.
  • Master of Health Administration or Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of health care delivery and management, basic accounting and finance, and health care legislation.
  • A minimum of five years of progressively more responsible related work experience in an ambulatory setting with three to five years of concurrent management experience in order to gain knowledge of administration and operation of physician practices. Masters of Health Administration or Masters of Business Administration degree and one to two years of expereince in an ambulatory setting may be accepted in lieu of management experience.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact in complex situations, work cooperatively with peers, senior management and represent the Company to a variety of external vendors and professional organizations.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills necessary in order to organize, coordinate and assess potential plans and programs, and to conduct financial and programmatic impact analyses.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve operational objectives.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications is required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
