Responsible for twenty four hour coordination of the Nursing Department (unit specific) clinical care. Coordinates, directs and facilitates the implementation, delivery and evaluation of patient care ensuring the provision of safe, compassionate and economical care. Strategic planning in consultation with the unit specific Director Director. Insures compliance with regulatory, institutional and professional standards. Models professional behavior to staff, health care system and community.

Qualifications for the RN Nurse Manager Role

  • Current Indiana Nursing License required.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program through Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) required as a minimum. BSN preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and managerial competency. Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective fiscal management analysis skills, effective communications skills, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of others. Tact, diplomacy, and discretion in order to protect confidentiality and sensitive information.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Three years of clinical experience preferred.
